Revive Initiative: New Small Church Event with Karl Vaters
This is a resourcing event that we are excited to share with you. In October, Pastor Jeff McLain will be helping to host Karl Vaters as part of the Revive Initiative. Please mark your calendars for this exciting day! Pastor Jeff had a chance to see Karl Vaters present earlier this year at a private conference for a small church network and found his resourcing to be helpful. Our Church Board also has been studying Small Church Essentials by Karl Vaters, for a few months.
Through his project New Small Church, Karl Vaters has been encouraging, equipping, and empowering healthy small churches and innovative small church leaders for the past decade. He has authored two resourceful books for small churches, The Grasshopper Myth and Small Church Essentials (Moody Press). Karl also blogs on small church praxis and missiology three times a week for Christianity Today. Many churches and individuals have been impacted by his influence and experience. After growing his church to what church growth experts consider the next level, Karl met burn out, only to realize God’s Kingdom-sized vision for healthy small churches. Additionally, he has been a small church pastor for over thirty years, spending the last twenty-five years as the pastoral leader of Cornerstone Christian Fellowship in Fountain Valley, California. Karl Vater’s ministry in helping develop healthy small churches and small church leaders continues to expand, and the Revive Initiative is looking forward to hosting him in Lancaster County, on October 12, 2019.
We invite you to join us for New Small Church with Karl Vaters on October 12, from 8:30 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. at Mountville Mennonite Church, presented by the Revive Initiative. This day is focused on encouraging, equipping, and empowering small churches and small church leaders. Karl Vaters will present throughout the day on developing a new and healthy small church. Tickets are only $20. Your ticket includes light refreshments and a light lunch. We encourage you to register to advance. (Doors will open at 8:00 A.M.)
The Revive Initiative is a partnership of individuals and churches focused on finding ways to encourage, equip, and empower small churches and leaders in Lancaster County, to announce, embody, and demonstrate the reigning good news and goodness of the Kingdom of God. Last year, over 100 individuals gathered for a missional training event with Howard Wagler, as part of our first Revive Initiative events.
This event will be hosted by the Revive Initiative at the Mountville Mennonite Church building. Mountville Mennonite Church is located at 205 Froelich Ave in Mountville, Pennsylvania. You can order tickets online!
This event is limited to 150 tickets, so please register for this New Small Church event with Karl Vaters as soon as possible! Karl has not only been an encouragement to me as a pastoral leader, but I believe this event with Karl will a day of impactful encouragement for many of you as well.
